Last nite I had a fright of my life! My gums actually bled. Fresh red blood oozing out from my mouth... I was staring at myself in the mirror, I looked just like a scene from a period TCS drama. You know.. the kind of scene where the swordsman has "nei shan".. *touch wood*.. should have taken a pic to upload her for you to see, damn.
After googling about this, it seems that it's common symptom for preggies. Gingivitis - Something about preggies being more prone to it due to:
1) Overflowing Blood (can't really do anything about this I guess)
2) Soft & weak gums (use a soft toothbrush)
3) More plague deposited on the gums (see the dentist more often)
Well, now you know...
Nevertheless, Dr Pong, I've made an urgent appt to see you this Wed. That was the earliest slot I could get. KS moninet.

JD's a He or She?
I had my much long awaited gynae appointment last Saturday. Gynae visits are now once a month, much much far apart, compared to the ones I had in my 1st trimester. During the 1st tri, visits were once a week, subsequently fornightly, then 3 wks once. Well, in a way I guess this helps us save $$. Gynae visits are certainly not cheap. Consultation and scan alone can set us back by about $100, not forgetting, there'll be those supplements that we need to purchase. Moreover, I've also heard stories about how too many ultrasounds can emit excessive radiation which is bad for baby. As what Candy said, what the parents derive happiness & excitement from will ultimately affect the baby's well being. Btw, this is not scientifically proven.
The Oscar test results were given to me last Saturday. This test mainly measures the length of fluid behind the baby's neck & some blood tests to see the risk of Down syndrome. Risk for mine was really low, thank God! This risk increases with age, so it brought about an awareness that if I'm intending for a 2nd baby, I really shouldn't wait too long.
The scan done on Saturday seems to reveal that I'm having a baby gal. Playful JD was showing me her butt cheeks and Dr Fong said there was no extra organ between the legs. Hmm, that means what the sonographer & I saw during the Oscar scan was not the extra organ! Well, we'll prob find out in 4 weeks time, when I'm due for my detailed scan at TMC!

My Bump @ 15 1/2 wks
Fong has been asking me if can see tummy liao. Took a pic of myself this morning. Quite disheartening to notice that my arms are so flabby now.. sob sob.. Anyhow, I suppose my tummy bump is neither small or big, would look more fat than pregnant now.

Millionaire... NOT
I so felt like a millionaire last weekend. I think I've never spent so much $$ in just 1 day in my entire life!
Ok, granted, it's not all my money.. but.. since my $$ is my $$ & DW's $$ is my $$, my goods are my goods, DW's goods are my goods, then it's considered that I was the spender and the goods are minnnnnnneeee.......
It all started out on that fateful Saturday morning on 15 March 2008. We had an appointment with Willie Huang aka William Hung at Borneo Motors. The next thing we knew, DW had signed on the dotted line, my credit card has been swiped.... in just a split second, it's $68k we parted with. WAHHHHHHHHH! But hey, I comfort myself, this car comes with a DVD player! But hey, does that mean it's gonna be Barney, High 5 from beginning of journey till end? HELP!!!
And it ended on that fateful Saturday evening on 15 March 2008. We went over to Best Denki. The TV in my house has conked and the garung guni man bought it at $10. Armed with $10 capital, I finally chose a 46" Samsung LCD. That's another $4k we waved farewell too.
It was at this point that DW asked me, " Do u feel like a millionaire today?"... huh, I gave him a cold shrug, saying, " my heart hurts, it's bread & water for the next 3 months".

So many things to buy!
Was just talking to DW last night... we realised we gotta make our money work doubly hard for us! There're just so many things to buy for to prepare for the arrival of JD.
First on the list - CAR.
Ok, some may say this is a luxury and there are many people who make do with MRT & Buses.. but.... I want car leh. It's bad enough that I've to stand on the awfully packed & stuffy MRT each morning and evening with my nausea & breathlessness. Can u imagine if it's me with a kid, a huge backpack & a stroller in tow? Yeah, I'm spoilt. So what? I do not like the idea of having to carry the pram up & down the bus steps either. So if it means my DW has to drive the night shift taxi or night shift MRT then so be it.. hiak hiak. We 've test driven the NEW Toyota Altis and the Honda Civic. We may go for the Toyota. Why? Because my Orlando is promoting it... Lame? Maybe. In any case, it's probably a good idea since it's cheaper and probably more fuel efficient. My family has been driving only Toyotas for the past 2 decades and never once has it failed us. I trust my judgement this time round.
Then comes the rest, baby cot, 2 car seats, diapers, milk powder, sterilizer, milk bottles, toys, enrichment classes, infant care the list goes on & on. Doesn't seem to end.. be assured I'll be adding more to the list once the official compilation starts.
Oh, & before I end off this entry... not forgetting... I need a MAID!!!!!! a part time one at least :P
